Post by daznotts62 » Sat Aug 15, 2009 6:54 pm

hi all, my friend has a freda, the top radiator hose has a pinprick hole in it,do you think a repair would suffice or a new hose (have a thought for me as he is not very good with a spanner, and i would end up doing the job !!!!)

thanks Daz

New hose & check the rest asap, Make sure you flush & bleed thoroughly as per factsheet in members area. Have you got a low coolant level alarm or mason alarm fitted?
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

get it replaced asap, it will overheat once he loses a bit of coolant, cheaper to repace a hose than a new head!

Just make sure you bleed it correctly:wink:

Bongo Bits, club shop - click above right, members discount if you're a paid up member. I'd recommend the silicon hoses from Flippa, but he's away til the 23rd I think & you need to get that ordered & done asap.

 Too quick for me Wayne

Make sure whoever puts on the new hose Knows How to BLEED the system properly....It is NOT straight forward and if not done correctly will probably cost you plenty.
