side & tail lights

Post by Colin H F » Fri Jun 19, 2009 12:50 pm

I have posted about this issue, it was suggested by a garage that it might be a faulty switch on the steering column stalk, but I have been thinking is there a relay that the lights go through ? if so where is it and what does it look like.Untill I get this issue sorted would it be practicable to take a possative fused wire through a seperate switch and join it to one of the wires going to my side & tail lights,

thanks for your response ,I am glad to report that after taking my van to a very highly experianced engineer today, after practically seperating every loom to find what wire goes to where, unplugging, and testing the fault (faults), were traced to a screw that had been inserted puncturing a loom harness and was shorting a number of wires causing all the problems I have been getting since owning the van ( see all my previous posts) oh how simpler it would have been if the wiring diagrams were made available in English for members to access, I really cant believe that for all this time since the bongo has been very popular over here that some one with clout has not managed to obtain these, Colin newbie

There is a wiring diagram available on CD for diesel bongos Colin. Unfortunately it is in Japanese and the cost of translating it are unafordable, however competent auto electricians should be able to follow the symbols. To date the club has had the Owners Manual for diesel bongos translated in New Zealand for its members and now I believe there is a posibility that the Owners Manual for petrol bongos will follow suit. It all depends on cost and demand.

Tony

I am pleased to hear that your troubles have been sorted out at last.

If you're a member you can buy it at a discount, if you're not a member you can buy it at full price, see THIS link for details. It's listed under 'manuals'.
