Info may be useful

Hi,

I was having my V belts amongst other things changed the other day at my local bongo specialist.

In chatting with the guy there he had a bongo diesel engine that became quite badly damaged due to a glow plug failiing through old age and the tip falling into the cylinder, this resulted in piston and valve damage.

Not sure if it's a common or likely thing to happen but if it is maybe it would be worth checking the glowplugs occasionally and changing if there are signs of wear.

Just thought I'd let you guys know in case it turns out to be useful info.

Have heard of this happening before but not on a Bongo. Cheap glowplugs maybe.
