I am on the verge of downsizing and privately swapping my Motorhome for a Bongo. I have had a test drive in the the Bongo I will swap with , whilst idling there seemed to be a bit of a vibration, is this normal for Bongos? is it just rough running or or could there be something in the engine that is out of balance. Engine is a 2.5 diesel.
Thanks for any help or ideas.

Re: Vibrating engine on idle
I've always found mine to be like that but find it pleasant once I got used to it. But I think you need to try out several Bongos before you can decide what is normal and what isnt (I've noticed some newer Bongos are quieter than mine, for example)eurobongo wrote:I am on the verge of downsizing and privately swapping my Motorhome for a Bongo. Oh and welcome eurobongo if I've not done so already

Re: Vibrating engine on idle
Ours is pretty quiet and I don't notice a vibration... as Mike said, maybe you should try a few to help you decide.

Allans Garage retired. Try PGS (Plymouth Garage Services) or Mayflower Auto Services Plymouth

There is some vibration on mine, compared to a modern diesel.
But it's impossible to say whether "your" vibration is normal.
It's a thing that needs comparing
Best drive a few I guess.

Put your (approx. - no need for full 7 digit postcode) location in your profile and you should get plenty of offers to sample different Bongos and see whether they all make the earth move for you or not.

Thank you all for your comments and advice
I would love to try lots of different bongos but I have had only one responss to my offer of a swap.
I think it is probably because of the aircon, which was on., the vibration was not bad, current owner said that it had always been like that since they purchased a year ago.

What offer? Where did you make it?eurobongo wrote: I would love to try lots of different bongos but I have had only one responss to my offer of a swap.
My suggestion to try some wasn't to do with swapping for them, just that I'm sure plenty of owners would let you see whether/how much theirs vibrated compared to the one you have tried.
But without knowing where you are, we can't know whether to offer you the experience.
