Good (not so) old Kirsty - spot on re ARB bracket fatigue

Post by mikeonb4c » Wed Apr 29, 2009 11:44 pm

Peeked underneath the Bongo a few days back to see if I could spot what might be causing the metallic scraping noise when I bank the old girl to the right. My gaze went straight to the antiroll bar brackets as Kirsty had warned that these can let go with fatigue. Sure enough, n/s rear one had and the rubber bush had, as a consequence, fallen off too.

New parts ordered from autojapspares on ebay (I've used them before - Pete there seems very helpful and on the ball and prices are good) so should be fixing things this weekend.

But to repeat Kirsty's advice, its worth changing the retaining brackets when you renew the bushes (I didn't, although in my defence I did mine long before Kirsty had encountered this problem) so you don't have aggravation later like wot I did.

Well done (as usual) MissF =D>

Trouble is I forget my own advice half the time, I rely on Mike to remember what I've said before   Glad it was something so simple :D
