dash board

on the dash i have the electric a/c, the buttons on the bottom of it - are they meant to light up? Also is the hazard light meant to light when you turn your lights on as its very very hard to see in the dark.

Yes they do light up and there is a topic on hear telling yoiu haw to do it. If you search aircon+lights it should bring it up, spare lamps from maplin. I did it a few weeks ago relatively easy but over tightened the unit and knackered it. Got a replacement of Mr Monkey and replaced the lamps in that now working a treat.

I have struggled to get the hazard switch out but again it is does light it up.

They should all light up, there's a factsheet in the members area for the climate control illumination, the hazard light is a bitof a sod to get out, its got clips top & bottom, a strip of flexible credit crad inserted top & bottom should get it out with a bit of firkling, bulb's on the side.
Searches on both these should yield answers on the forum.

i have the manual air circulation/aircon version, is the temp bar suppost to light up? its not vissible at night with the lights on and hard to know what im doing, and i cant see the position of the airflow either, so it could be blowing anywhere at any temp   .

On a side note, i have been looking on ebay over the last few eeks for a "digital" climate control to replace my outdated one but to no avail, but hadnt asked the obvious question......is the thinf swappable?? and how easy is it?

P.S the instructions for replacing the bulbs in the members area is only for the digital version, not my manual, do i insert somekind of small allen key/ tool into the hole at each corner??

Cheers

Hi Gaza, i used a "ford" stereo removal key to release the unit. Yes, the blue/red segment should illuminate.

Hi Gaza
I've used a wire coat-hanger a couple of times to do mine. As regards changing to a digital climatic, it is not just a question of the dash unit...there are all manner of sensors, and motors...and it's not worth the effort..keep it simple...less to go wrong 8)
Cheers

In the beginning there was nothing , then God said "Let there be Light".....There was still nothing , but ,by crikey, you could see it better.
