AFT roof stuck closed

Just had a neighbour pop round with his Bongo.

The AFT roof is stuck in the closed position. He says he's checked the switch and all the fuses, and with the roof closed there's no obvious access to the motors or mechanism so we're a bit stuck for ideas. - Anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks...

Check the handbrake switch itself under the console, may not be making contact properly. Is there any noise coming from the motors as if they're trying?

Thanks for the replies. I'll get him to check the handbake switch. He say's he can hear a clicking noise from the roof when he tries to raise it which suggests that the motors are trying to open, but are stuck.

Anyone ever tried to take a roof off from the closed position?

Cheers,
Steve

You'd need to be Mr Tickle.

Is it 'Beeping'?

Be worth trying to give it a helping push up while pressing the button, not too hard though, don't want to break anything.
I know you said it was making a clicking noise, but it'd be worth checking the fuse - no 12, 30 amp fuse 4th from left on the second row.

Just spoken to my neighbour again. He's tried pushing it from underneath and he's checked the handbrake switch. He says it does beep when he presses the button.

Sounds like this isn't a common problem so I'll post an update if and when he does get it fixed in case it happens to anyone else...

Cheers,
Steve
