HELLPPPP!!!! Won't start. And wedding Friday

Post by samuel » Wed Mar 25, 2009 8:55 pm

Tried to start the Bongo. Engine turns beautifully but won't fire up.

Changed the glo-plugs recently and keep meaning to change the glo-plug relay as it still misfires a bit on start up.

Does glo-plug failure contribute to it not starting at all?

Or anybody any other ideas?

The fuel tank is showing a quarter full.

We're off to Paul and Sue's Bongo wedding on Friday!!!

Elpp!! Pleeze!

Well I reckon you'll have to search on here for how to test voltage supply to the relay and the nget the multimeter out. If that (and glowlugs) is fine then move on to fuel system stuff like banjo filter etc.

Anyone else able to add to that? Good luck [-o<

As Mike says, check power to the glow plugs. An easy way is to just disconnect the wire from the bar and use a bulb to bridge the circuit - with the ignition on :D
It has been rather cold lately, so it might be worth charging your battery, for extra boost.
