Good luck with that. I got a spare "plipper" from eBay - identical to the one I had - but couldn't program it. Tried several methods I found on t'web, but no joy

Alternatively it is really easy to replace the Mazda remote central locking with an after market kit (these can be bought on e bay for around £20). The Mazda module is in the driver's door and this can be replaced with the after market module. You just wire it to the existing door solenoid as polarity changing 2 wire system.
This gives you 2 remote controls and almost certainly better range as the existing system is not particularly good any way.
