Rad Weld - Is It A No No?

Coolant alarm howled when firing up after work yesterday, stuck a couple of pints of ready mixed coolant in. Drove 5 miles home.

Overnight its dumped about the same out. :( Seems the ever present (since purchase 18 months ago) weep from the hose 'tween the head & turbo has become heavier.

Question is - Sticking Radweld in may well plug the leak but is that going to cause more hassle in the long run, blocking the rad or crusting up other hoses & the like . . . .?

It might work, I have used it before on other motors but..can you take a chance on the bongo, too expensive to consider really, I picked up one off evil bay for £70.00 delivered and so far it is perfect, I have even found a place close that says it can repair..or rather re seal my leaking rad..top tank leak, so as soon as I get a chance..off I jolly well go. I would not take a chance on the rad weld.

Don't use it.
Leak sealers can contain a high proportion of soluble oil.
A 2% concentration in the system will raise the head temperature by about 10% :shock:
