Aerial Connections

Post by BongoDez » Wed Mar 18, 2009 7:52 pm

Hi All,

Another hopefully easy question for you from a newish (very non technical!!) owner.

My stereo aerial lead has come unplugged from the aerial connector somewhere in the Bongo. Can anybody tell me where the connection could be found? Would it be in a standard place or could the connection be anywhere? I have looked at all the leads I can see but just can’t seem to find it.

Hope this is understandable!!

Cheers,
BongoDez.

do you mean the coax has come out of the plug?, or that the whole aerial has come out the back of the stereo?

the bongo aerial comes out of the back of the stereo and over the drivers footwell up the windscreen/door pillar, it actually has a extension peice in so it might have come apart at that point.

cant remember its exact location but i think its just at the top of the drivers footwell before it goes behind the door pillar trim (door hinge side)

Hi there,

I did mean the coax has come out of the plug.

The cable length did suggest its around that area and thats where I was looking but couldn't see an obvious connector.

I'll have another check in the morning.

ha............so is the aerial still pligged into the back of the stereo? and the other end has the connector missing?

if so it will probably still connected to the other end of the coax that goes up the door pillar

Yep, the aerial is plugged into the stereo, its the other end that’s not connected.

Do you know if the coax will be hanging out of the end of the door pillar?

oh and thanks for deciphering my cryptic questions!!

  , it runs up under the dash and up the side of the dash just behind the plastic pillar trim, if i remember rightly it was at the bottom behind the pillar trim, but dont quote me on that my memory is crap  , if you look up under the dash in drivers footwell in the direction of the door pillar trim and cant see it, then it where i said i thought it might be just above the dash behind the windscreen/door pillar trim
