Reversing lights dilema!
Greetings everyone, this is my first post..here goes.
I have just been informed that my reverse lights don't work, I've had a look and it's true. Trouble is I never saw them when they did work, my point being I don't know if there are two lights or one, if there's one then chances are it's the bulb, if two then could it be a fuse?
Can anyone suggest an appropriate course of action. All the other back lights work fine.
She's a 96 Freda by the way. Any advice most welcome.

They are supposed to go on when you choose reverse gear. There must be a switch on the gear leaver, could this be faulty.

Re: Reversing lights dilema!
If you check the bulbs and the fuse and they are ok it maybe that the reversing light switch may have failed - it should be somewhere on the gearbox casing or it could be a bad earth. Hope this may give you a few pointers to go on.

If I had all the money I ever spent on my Freda ............ I`d spend it on my Freda.

Bet you a Ritz cheese cracker the bulb has popped. It'll probably be the nearside rear cluster, the opposing light will probably be a converted foglamp. (switch the rear fogs on to check this).

Wow, thanks so much for all the feedback folks! I shall now proceed to try a few of the suggestions. And yes it is an auto Steviebongo. I hope it's not a switch and is just a bulb.
Incidentally after scouring the fuse diagrams I couldn't see a fuse pertaining to the reverse lights specifically, anyone know which one it should be?
Best

Hi Freda,There is a switch/actuator on the side of the autobox,it has a pluged connector make sure that is ok.
The only other fuse could be the one for the rear lights (under the hood)No8 15amp.
Cheers Malc.
