Fuel Pump problems

HELP!!!!!!

Bertie is in the garage!! We have a small fuel leak from the pump, and the garage are currently trying to remove the pump so we can send it off to get the seals replaced!

The problem is that they cannot remove the pump. Does anyone know what they should do??? :? :?

They are planning to give up later today and we will have to collect the car back by the end of the week without solving the leak! It is costing a fortune in fuel bills. :roll: :roll:

Can someone advise?????

May be worth getting them to give wheelquick or Bellhill a ring? They seem to know bongo's inside out. Surprised a garage is struggling :? Have you used them before?

Numerous forum members have replaced the seals themselves on here, try a search on fuel and pump and seals - http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... mit=Search 40 odd threads to choose from. I'm sure someone'll be along with some first hand help asap.

I have removed the pump, I am very surprised a garage is having problems :D , any way all you do is undo the nut on the cam pulley- is was rather tight on mine and I had to use a 2 foot breaker bar attached to the socket then you need to remove the bolt that attaches to the bracket on the engine and then take a large flat bladed screwdriver and lever between that and the bracket that comes from the pump-you will see what i mean.I would if I were you relieve your garage of the pump and take it to a diesel specialist yourself to get it resealed, rebuilt and calibrated I paid £200 all in with a specialist in Chingford NE london if it is not practical to go there send it by courier it I bet you wont find a better pricce nationwide. If you let your garage do it I bet you willl be paying nearer a grand. if you want more details pm or call me 07931573294
