Radiator Cleaning/Rodding Service

Post by Triple/R » Mon Feb 02, 2009 3:23 pm

I mentioned to mikeonb4c about my radiator being cleaned/rodded out--this was unfamiliar to him & suggested to me if i could get details from the radiator people direct it might help some of you to decide whether to have this service as apposed to buying new.

Right here goes--i had my radiator cleaned /rodded (among other jobs) done at Hillside Motors Derby phoned them today asked if they would give me the name & phone No of the company that did my radiator so anyone from BF could go direct & hopefully save some cash--Hillside duly obliged.

The company is---Coolex Group--0115 9423344 Nottingham any questions you can phone them.

Apparently (through our brief conversation) they (in their words) sword/rod it out--pressure test with 25lb of air--drop in water tank to test for bubbles/leaks etc;
The cost of the service is usually how long it takes,but said it's usually £40/£60
But obviously if sending by courier bear in mind shipping both ways.

Anyway if this can help anyone thats what the forum is all about.

King Regards Ray.

Excellent bit of info there Ray (and many thanks to Hillside - top Bongo dealers). =D>

If Ian de Bongomeister is reading this in snowed up Sheffield (or anyone else with authority to) , could this lot be added to the relevant factsheet (recommended garages / suppliers?) as it could be a really useful alternaive for those considering a replacement (maybe inferior brand) radiator following overheating problems etc. 8)
