Passenger side battery tray, what size mounting bolts?

Post by Daniel » Fri Jan 09, 2009 4:13 pm

I have had a battery tray made up to fit the passenger side of the Bongo. Does anyone know what size, bolts i need to fit the 4 mounting holes? Length, width, thread or a product code, any would be helpfull? Sounds a lazy question but i don’t keep the Bongo at my house so it’s not straight forward for me to check. I will pop into B&Q and get some while on the way to my parents tomorrow to fit the tray.
FYI i managed to find an outlet selling Varta Asia batteries (595 404 083) for £65! (95amps with 830amps crank, great stuff). They are advertised at £100 on the net. Bargain.
Cheers :D

You may want to run a tap through the threaded holes, I've fitted 2 LB trays & with both of them, the threads were fairly clogged, I don't like forcing bolts, so ran a tap through & it was much easier :D
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Also stick a bit of grease or Waxoyl on the threads which will make them go in a bit easier & stop the rusting where they pass thru' the wheelarch.
