Has anyone fitted one of these to their bongo, they seem like a good idea if you are considering laying up your bongo for a few weeks / months,.

I have had these fitted to both batteries ....you can isolate one or both batteries...also you can remove the Green terminal very quickly and it is a very good anti theft measure.

Hmm. if you disconnect the battery, but leave the 15A fuse in, you have not really disconnected it and, if you have any small drain, the battery will flatten over weeks or months. Also if you forget and try to start the car the fuse will blow. So best not to have the fuse. You may lose radio settings etc though.
But then its just the same as taking the negative lead off the battery! Its quicker and less messy and doesn't need a spanner though.

i fitted one of these not long ago, but mine did not come with a fuse bypass, so every time i use it the alarm goes off when i reconnect.where does the fuse connect to ?

It just bridges the gap between the negative terminal and the lead, Dave

sorry my brain is dead today the fuse connects between the isolator and the earth lead ,in effect not really disconnecting the battery, but enough to stop someone trying to start the engine, and the fuse will blow.
so as long as the fuse is ok the alarm will be working but with the added security of it not being able to start.
