Aberdeenshire Day Meet
Aberdeenshire Bongoliers how about meeting up as we don't seem to see each other on the road. My suggestion - There is plenty of parking at the woods just South of St Katherine's on the A947 (About 4 miles North of Oldmeldrum). Anyone up for next weekend (weather permitting). Saturday or Sunday. I could put the kettle on. Anyone up for it let me know.

Hi Holly,
I like the sound of that - need to check with the boss regards plans for next weekend first.
I don't see much in the way of woods on my maps - can you be more specific?
regards Grahame

Excellent idea Holly - I'm not sure on the woods either as I don't head up that stretch of the A947 often. I think we're fairly free on both days.

OK we're up for it.
Sunday would be best - wouldn't be all day but go up for lunch & a walk.
I'll copy this onto the local section as well - see if we can get some more takers there.
Regards Grahame & valerie

Re: Aberdeenshire Day Meet
You are right the woods aren't on the map, I've looked. On the map about 2.5miles north of Oldmeldrum there is a crossroads Mains of Tulloch farm to the left and Tarves to the right half a mile further on on the right is the wood. It is not very big but there is a large parking area with picnic tables. If you would prefer to meet somewhere else that is fine. If it is just the three of us then maybe somewhere in Inverurie might be better. What do you think?
I just thought it would be nice for us to get to know other local bongo owners.

Re: Aberdeenshire Day Meet
We are up for it, if on Sunday... Thats if you will allow us, being non local.

Re: Aberdeenshire Day Meet
I'm going to be working this weekend but if I can get away I'll try and make it too.
Re: Aberdeenshire Day Meet
Inverurie would be good for us if that was an option and hopefully will be easy enough for everyone else - but when it comes down to it, a Bongo mini-meet will be great anywhere in the area!
Just been reminded that we're looking after a friend's dog as well as our own this weekend and we'll leave them at home, so we won't be able to hang around too long unfortunately.

Hi all I have not had my bongo for long so it would be great to meet a few new faces,my son has a birthday party near oldmeldrum in the afternoon,so I could maybe pop along before the party
Re: Aberdeenshire Day Meet
You are welcome Brorabongo. You are nearly local.
Sunday it is then folks!
It looks like Inverurie would probably be best. There is a car park by the River Don in Port Elphinstone. There is a riverside park there. Does everyone know where it is? What time are we going to meet?
Is this OK for everyone?

Re: Aberdeenshire Day Meet
Yes Inverurie is OK with me.
Exactly where is the car park you mention - North or South, upstream or downstream of the B993 bridge?
I've driven past it lots of times but can't remember exactly where it is
I take it there are some picnic benches or similar there? - to brew up on
Looking forward to meeting up with Brora again
- and the rest of you of course
How about 11:30 ish - not too early and gives Discoal a chance before he heads off to his party
Although I suppose Brora won't make it until later as he's got just a little further to come
Would one of you guys be willing to lend me a hand for a couple of minutes to help me turn my middle seat around?
- I was planning on doing it in the next couple of weeks anyway and this seems like a grand opportunity
Brora - I'd like you to feel my front flat spots while you're there - compare them with yours
Regards Grahame

Grahame if you leave the A96 onto the B993 come through Port Elphinstone and it is last on the left (Riverside Park) before the bridge. 11.30 am is fine by me. I can't remember if there are any tables. But I will bring my camping table anyway you can use that if want.

We will be leaving early, so hope to see you all around 11:30.
Will I see you all easily as I approach the park?
Cheers.
Donald.
