Heater problems

Post by Bossman » Wed Dec 17, 2008 9:57 pm

Hi,

Please could you help me. I have got a problem with my front heater. I have replaced the heater motor and control panel, I am still not getting anything in the front, I have tried a friends heater resistor and still nothing. I have power when the control knob is turned on but still no fan working. If I break the connection and earth it out then my fan will only work at high speed but not controlled from inside.

Here's hoping you can help me.

Hello there, sometimes the resistor from another van that does work will not work in the broken one.
I know this sounds wrong and you would expect it to work but I had the exact same problem.
I purchaced a new resistor from mazdabongo.com aprox £50 and it then worked fine.
You have to buy the one that matches you heater, old type or climate type.
Mine was the old type part no - 582571-9000. Hope this helps..

Have you checked the factsheets re repairing the heater fan resistor? it's an easy job to do. Check all the connections are making properly on all the various cables, if several bits have been replaced, it may have created another problem with an iffy wire or contact point.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.
