Maintenance manual
Now that I have got used to my Bongo, I need to look after it.
Initially looking for routine maintenance stuff - oil, water levels, etc (and how to get to them).
There is one in the Bongo shop but it is for 'WL-T engine' only. How do I know if this is the correct one for my machine?and what does WL-T mean?
I have millions of questions to ask but maintenance comes fiirst.

Re: Maintenance manual
The WL-T means that it is the diesel engined Bongo. There is no maintenance manual available for the petrol engined Bongo at the moment.
The maintenance manual for the diesel was translated from Japanes in New Zealand for Bongo Fury. Expert techies complain that there a few bits missing but it deals with most of the problems the layman is likely to tackle.
You can get a large amount of the information that you will need to look after your Bongo from the fact sheets in the members area.

Re: Maintenance manual
Many thanks - went to members facts sheets as you suggested and got what I need (for now) but at least I now know where to look. Us newbies can be a real pain don't you think?
Thanks again for the info

Using the search facility on the forum can also yield some good results, the bongo clinic on the main site as well, schematics here - http://www.lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/ & there's bongoogle - http://www.bongoogle.co.uk/ . Who needs a manual

Who needs a manual? - I do - I need all the help I can get. For any vehicle I have owned, I have always bought a Haynes which gave step by step instructions but I noticed the last one (Saab) is not so good.
I have been on the two sites you suggested - wads of information - thanks.
I got to thinking about this (always a dangerous move-thinking) and came to the following conclusions:
1. There very likely will be other Bongo owners out there who are in a similar spot to me. Love the van, need to look after it, but not entirely sure about procedures.
2. There is a wealth of information available on the Bongo site, as you have demonstrated. (not so much what you know as where to find the information - as Mike said earlier)
3. From trawling through the forum(s) it is also quite obvious that there is an equally abundant wealth of experienced people who are always ready to share their knowledge with other Bongo owners. I find this very refreshing.
4. Reading through the various posts, there are a lot of folk who have plenty of very technical knowledge.
How about.............
Organising a 'do' where thickies like me could meet up with the more experienced owners like you, on a Bongo initiation/maintenance weekend? (and it would be nice to have a poke around other machines to see how they have been modified)
Do you think there would be anyone interested?

Re: Maintenance manual
there are always day meets being organised, just check out the area where you live and you will find that the info that you require is there for the asking from any bongo owner.widdowson2008 wrote:

Re: Maintenance manual
look in the FANCY MEETING UP section on the forum to see if anything is being organised in your area or scroll down to your location section (n/w, yorks, devon or where ever you live
) and see if anything is being organised there.
