Winter start system - removal

Post by Rhod » Mon Nov 17, 2008 10:00 pm

Has anyone removed the winter start system?
When my bank balance has recovered from the cooling system refit I'd like to fir an Eberspacher, but the winter start system gubbins (system is U/S)under the passenger seat are in the way of the usual mounting position. Any tips?

Thanks Sparky. I knew I'd seen something on it recently.
It's the mechanism under the passengers seat that I need to remove however.

Do you have a picture Rhod? According to the manual, the unit is way down the exhaust pipe, by the gearbox, so it should not get in the way of the heater. You're not mistaking the turbo as being the thing in the way?

The actuator gubbins is in the space between the chassis member and the inner wing Simon.

There's a pic somewhere - Morag sent it in.

Well remembered Dandy http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... +passenger. I guess its a question of un-plumbing it & blanking any left over pipes.
