Camping in Pub car parks.

If you camp in a pub carpark, and have a few beers over the limit:
Does that make you drunk in charge of your vehicle when you retire for the night ?
Maybe you could be charged with the offence

only if you have the keys on your person, depends on the copper to be honest, if you have the keys in the ignition it will look bad, but if they are in the glove box and your in the back asleep, different story, well depends on the copper really.

Maybe the safest thing to do is leave the keys behind the bar and pick them up again next morning , after a breakfast pint

depends if your wanting to get away early, some pubs dont open un till dinner time, but if your like me and like a sleep in, then your ok

This is not a pub, but Bourton Rovers Football Social club.Bourton on the Water. I phoned them yesterday and anyone can stay and have also have use of the social club. You can not book though, You just turn up and hope there is a space, then pay when the club is open £8.50 night.

Surely the fact that you have asked whoever owns the pub if you can stay overnight also goes in your favour?

You would think so, but I phoned and asked for a specific date. The lady said "we don't take bookings, but if you come and there is a space, then just park up and pay us when we are open" I was hoping to book overnight for "the victorion Christmas" but it might be busy, if anyone knows about the clubs camping

is that the 4th December weekend?............ were in Valkenburg in Holland for the Christmas Markets going to run the family into Germany so that they will do France,Belgium,Holland and Germany in a weekend...

Second highest in England, 1690ft.

Not done it as we live locally but there at the weekend and asked about overnight stopover. Said OK for one or two small vans if you spend some money in the pub and ask first
Supposedly good for sunsets and sunrise.
Take thermals, its bloody cold up there.

Just spent a plesant, if a little snowy weekend in the car park at the Helwith Bridge Inn , Horton in Ribblesdale, Settle, North Yorks. BD24 0EH
A top spot for walking,a traditional pub with real ales, good food and much needed open fire, also dog friendly
Ask behind the bar if its ok to stay - it will be, but best to be polite.
