Blinds and Radio

Car electrics are never simple.

To stop a drain on the battery through the radio I decided to cut the "battery" (yellow) feed at the back of the radio (which allows the radio to play without the ignition) and just leave the "ACC" (red) feed to use the radio with the ignition on.
I discovered that both ACC and Battery feeds need input for the radio to work, so I had to splice them together to run off the ACC.
So now I have a completely dead radio until the ignition is on (first position). No more flat batteries! Only drawback is that stations aren't stored in the memory, so it has to be retuned every journey (mostly listen to CDs anyway).

But, now I can only operate the blinds with the ignition on !

Other features that share the circuit (No 1 fuse drivers seat area) ie the interior lights, central locking are all still working OK.

How can cutting a wire behind the radio have this effect when just uplugging the radio (temp solution for the last week) didn't ?

I Know nowt about car electrics,but my electric blinds only work with the ignition on. Won't work otherwise.

Unless your blinds were modified to run from a permanent live feed before your mod, they should only have worked with the ignition on are you sure they were any different before?

Radio doesn't normally work without the ignition either in the auxiliary position or on. The permanent feed is only to retain the memory.

Now aswell as being confused, I'm beginning to doubt my own memory
