Rear washer no, rear wiper yes
My rear wiper is working OK but the washer isn't squirting and there is no noise from the pump. The reservoir is full. Do I need to move my leisure battery to get at the pump or will the reservoir lift out if I loosen the two nuts at the top.

I had this on my Bongo and at first thought I had a fault.
Unlike more modern cars there is a second reservoir for the rear wipers on the passenger side at the back near the air conditioning controls. The pump back there appeared soundless but worked once the second reservoir was topped up.

Cripes NFT I thought I knew my way round my Bongo but can't picture that. Is this under the bonnet somewhere?New Forest Terrier wrote:I had this on my Bongo and at first thought I had a fault.

Mine works the rear & front from the same source.
The feed pipe to the rear washer is set an inch or so above the feed to the front & gives a warning of fluid running low before the front gives out. Never found a seperate resovoir to fill the rear.

Passenger side near the ac controls?

Must admit - I've not come across one with seperate washer bottles - mine certainly only has one supplying front & back. I've stripped out the back of mine completely before & not found anything relating to the rear washer. Need photos of this one

I changed windscreen washer bottle a few weeks ago, yep I removed the battery, it made it much eaiser to get at. My front washer pump had packed up. And as other above have said, the rear and front pumps are located on the washer bottle in front of the battery. A kind fellow bongo owner gave me a spare bottle he just happened to have at hand. I have no idea how much a replacement would cost. Try the spares and wants section on this forum, you could be lucky

I had exactly the same symptoms.
Try this:
Remove your washer bottle from under the bonnet. Taking out the leisure battery (if fitted) makes it possible.
The pumps are marked on the bottle as F and R. Pull them out one at a time and rinse them thoroughly under a hot tap to clean out any sediment build up on the impellor. Wash out the bottle too and then make sure the electrical connectors are clean and test the pump again. You may be lucky, I was.
If washing up liquid is used as windscreen washer fluid then a sticky residue builds up and can cause the pump to stop working.
Let us know how you get on.
