temp guage problems
Hi, posting for my Dad as he has no internet, any help appreciated..
He has a 2.0L Petrol bongo, the temp guage doesnt move when van is in motion, seems to come to life when idling. He's replaced the sensor with no improvement.
Any ideas?

Re: temp guage problems
One 'workaround' would be to abandon the official temp gauge and fit an engine block temperature sensor and display. This would give you a more useful measurement than the standard gauge thus killing two birds with one stone. This sort of thing:

Although a short term fix, it might be a fiddly way round of not fixing the problem though Mike.
Something is wrong.
Sort the fault 1st then get the gubbins to monitor it I say.

Sound like the thermostat.
If you think it's the gauge itself PM me

Yup, sorry, I was off on the wrong train of thought. If the gauge is working properly, then the underlying cause needs investigating!!!mister munkey wrote:Although a short term fix, it might be a fiddly way round of not fixing the problem though Mike.

If thermostat is replaced, make sure the coolant system is bled correctly
