ROOF WARNING LIGHTS AND BLEEPS

Post by Bongo Boozer » Sat Oct 04, 2008 8:20 am

Ok back to this subject
Are there 4 sensors on the roof?
Mine bleeps and flashes on start up. I have to slightly raise and lower the roof to stop the bleeping but the flashing stays on.
I posted the below fix some time ago so I am assuming its he rear ones if there are any I need to sort.
I have done a search but came up with nothing??

I packed out the front sensors with board and this stopped the bleeping and flashing

Cheers

Ok Bongo bandits
I have fixed this (or should I say got around it)
I have removed the board packing I had between the thin metal strip and the white plastic spring loaded thing (If thats makes sense).
Then I completely removed the white plastic spring loaded thing and wedged the thin metal strip down with a cut to size match that fits snugly between the side of the alloy roof runner and the sensor. For some reason this will only stop the noise and light if the centre of the strip is wedged down not the end ??
It also seems only to be the one over the drivers side (front), still can't track the rear ones down (but I don't need to now)

Anyway I know the roof is closed properly because I can hear it lock home so I know Im safe using this fix.

cheers

I bought mine with this problem nearly 2 years ago. The dash light has flashed from then until now and my half hearted attempts at fixing the switch have come to nowt. But like you, I hear the roof locking down so I'm not worried. Strange - I've been in bed with man 'flu the last few days and got my first good nights sleep last night. And what did I dream? That my Bongo roof was refusing to close fully.....until I realised I'd forgotten something to do with the button pressing sequence, then it closed fine. Wot me Bongo obsessed?
