Roof won't go up

Post by bastle » Tue Sep 02, 2008 3:11 pm

Son no. 2 has called from deepest Scotland -"the roof won't go up!" He had it up earlier in the week no trouble, but no luck now. We had some intermittent trouble earlier in the year during a longish trip to Spain, but it always worked after a few tries. Wondering if there is an electrical connection that occasionally disconnects. Any thoughts anybody?

The usual culprits are Ignition on and a good idea to have the engine running, vital is to have Handbrake on and to check that the switch is actually operating its visible when you take the console cover off.

Good luck!

Switch contacts on the handbrake can get damp & oxidise, bit of a scrape or emery should sort it.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.
