Cylinder Heads

Post by Farm Boy » Tue Aug 26, 2008 10:22 pm

I am thinking of buying a Bongo but have been told that Mazda 2.5 tdi cylinder heads can crack around the 80,000 mile mark for no real reason.

Does anyone know if this is true or have they experienced it?

Thanks

The heads only crack if the cooling system is faulty - inevitably caused by silted up radiators :(

most cracked heads are caused by blocked coolant systems or coolant loss.

if you gat a bongo ask if it has had any problems and give it a good hard test drive
when bought consider a coolant change and flush and even a replacement radiator especialy a new import

Having said that the vast majority have had no problems at all
