Passenger Side Window Motor Question

Post by monkeyboybongo » Tue Jul 22, 2008 6:40 pm

Driving along tonight when passenger window wont open (thankfully in fully closed position). Neither driver or passenger switch operates the dam thing so initial thought is motor! Not had time to take cover off yet but thinking worst case... is the motor difficult to replace...both spares or availability wise. If its a long tedious job I'll wait until I'm back from my 3 week trip but if its a quick job I will trot down to spares place or scrapper and try and get sorted.

Any other mazda or ford models that I can use? I'll only be able to get parts from Germany in the timescale I need so could be difficult. Hopefully a good tinker with it will get it going again but might need to phone around tomorrow.

Typical this happens 5 days before we're due to head off!

Are you sure you haven't just moved the locking button on the driver's side switch?

Hi,

i've just picked up a V reg 2.0l petrol converted and the passenger side window doesnt work, from either the driver or the passenger side controls, lock on or off!!!!

i'm taking it to local garage tomorrow, and was wondering if anyone knew about the cost of parts, motor, solenoid etc

thanks a lot

Hi Huw
welcome to the madhouse :D - don't forget to put your location in your profile cos' somebody local to you will often be able to help.
A common problem is the wiring loom between the door and the frame. With somebody holding the switch, try waggling the loom about. If it works, you've just got a broken wire.

I love France (hence my forum name) and lots of French food. I hated snails though and haven't plucked up the courage to try frog's legs (never seen them for sale either)
