electric mirror

Post by dreamwarrioruk » Mon Jul 21, 2008 10:22 pm

have a problem with nearside mirror. it wont fold in, have stripped it all down and the motor is dead, it was seized solid, managed to free it. got 12v running to it via the switch but when i put direct current onto it it dosnt spin either way.
has anyone had any sucess with getting a replacement motor from anywhere.they are only small units about twice size of a scalextric motor. dont want to have to buy a whole new mirror unit if i can help it but want to keep the bongo pretty much as i bought it.also if i foget to fold in the mirror down our street it wont be there the next day. its already been clouted even when it was folded it
thanks in advance.

Mike, some one out there somewhere must have a smashed housing that is beyond repair but the motor is ok - fingers crossed .

Good question mike, and the key element is...Is there another (common) car that employs the same motor? So we all know which car to hunt for when trawling the scrappies, surely the motor isn't particular just to the bongo?

Hi
Try Proops, or a model shop....Ripmax stock a number of different motors
Cheers

In the beginning there was nothing , then God said "Let there be Light".....There was still nothing , but ,by crikey, you could see it better.
