Servicing

Hi friendees,

Mine has just turned 40,000 miles so it says and I was wondering about a DIY service. Does anyone have a list of what gets done or any tips? Hoping to save some of the £180 my garage would charge.

Thanks alot.

p.s. fitting a towbar was not as hard as I thought it would be

Hi,

Assuming yours is a diesel I'd be looking at:

Changing engine oil and filter
Checking auto gearbox oil and changing if dirty
Checking diff oil
Checking brakes all round
Checking each wheel is rotating freely and no slack in bearings or suspension
Changing air filter
How old is brake fluid, does it need changing?
How old and clean is engine coolant.
Condition of all drive belts.
Lubricate all door hinges, locks etc and roof mechanism.
Check wiper blade condition.
Check tyre condition and pressures.

I think there are good guides on most of this in the members area.

I'd be looking at replacing the cambelt too really...Not especially because of the mileage..More to do with it getting on a bit if it's the original belt.
