Central locking/alarm

Post by ns400r » Sun Jul 06, 2008 10:05 am

Hi
I have just become the owner of a 1999 ford Freda, which I had an alarm fitted in with the deal.

The problem I have is the remote central locking or the key only works the drivers door.

Looking through previous posts I found the fuse located top left (a 10amp one) and on removing it all the other doors opened and the remote central locking works fine, but no interior lights, refit the fuse and lights with no locking.

Any help would be appreciated as its 160 mile round trip to take it back.

Thanks Clive

If you click on th "User control panel" top right of the screen, you can put the location in your profile :D May also help people to know what alarm was fitted?

Hi Clive, welcome to "Bongo Land"

I am Bradford born and bred although we have escaped to Leeds now, sorry. I am sure some of the more tecchy brigade will be along to help with your problems. I have an intermittent central locking system myself and need to look into it this weekend before the hols.

What colour is your Bongo, I still work in Bradford an will keep my eyes open for you. Most of the time I drive a green Micra - so if some nutter in a manky green Micra waves - you know who it is

Sorry m8, would normally help a fellow bradfordian out, but have a major lack of time might have a few minutes if ya shipley side. Do you have the fitting indestructions? also when i did mine it had the madza keyless entry modual fitted now removed & wired into alarm.

Can you ask the people who fitted the alarm whether they fitted a solenoid in the door or wired the alarm to the Mazda keyless entry system. I'll then post your question on an auto electrical installers forum I'm a member of and see what we can find out.
To be honest it sounds like a central locking problem rather than an alarm problem

Hi All

Taking it back tomorrow. The auto electrician also thinks it's the vehicle wiring, not the alarm although he seems to have not connected the
interior sensors. Hopefully it should be all fixed tomorrow.

Thanks
