Brake pads

Post by Ame » Mon Jun 30, 2008 2:53 pm

Ive just received my set of rear brake pads and notice that there is a small clip type attatchment that is rivetted onto the back of one of the pads but not any of the others.
I cant find it mentioned in the fact sheets or on other posts.
Can anyone give me advice as to whether this is normal? :?
Cheers Ames

Hopefully this is the link to a photo. The clip type attachment is on the second pad from the right.

That'll be the brake wear indicator. Did the ones you took off not have them? Should be one per pair.

AAhh. Thank you!
I havent replaced them yet as wanted to make sure this was the right set. There is only one clip on one pad. the other 3 dont have one.

In that case it probably fits on the inside of the near side front pair - check if there is a corresponding wire to connect to it.

Some cars only have one wear sensor and it's often on the N/S front for some reason.
