Post by cabte » Tue Jun 17, 2008 4:59 pm

Just bought a leisure battery for the bash but not got the split link charger as yet.
Is there a make do way i can go and still use the battery over the bash??

Mainly for light at night and small items like my wifes charger

Your wife needs a charger?

Is this something we should know about?

To charge it you could just use a set of jump leads connect them just before you drive off and remember to disconnect them when you stop.

To use the battery on site buy a 12v socket with crocodile clips on instead of a 12v plug and just run that out under the bonnet and into the Bongo through the bottom of the front passenger door.

One like this but with clips

And when you come to wire it in properly the only word you need to remember is "Willinton".

cabte dont forget you can always charge things in other people's vans if you need to. Most of us only have the LB and not hook up but there will be lots of help at hand if you haven't got it sorted.

I have a 300 Watt inverter with croc clips you
could borrow at the bash if it's any help.

I would not advise driving around with a set of Jump leads attached. It's asking for a dead short.

I've got a hook-up and I'll take my battery charger - just in case. You can carry the ruddy battery though

I have been really really looking forward to this one since it was first announced but after the nasty allergic reaction I had the weekend before last, I still look like a lepper and feel pretty awful so I am not looking forward to it as much as I was. I dont like meeting new people with no make up - its not the same :(
