Temperature Gauge Voltage

Post by Simon Jones » Sun Jun 15, 2008 5:46 pm

Two quick questions:

Anyone measured the voltage at the rear of the gauge on the instrument panel, where the screw passes thru the T-U connection? I'm getting 8V on a fairly warm engine, but the needle has gone off the scale at the hot end. It was working fine until I did some work behind the instrument panel earlier.

Is there a 12V regulator built in to the instrument panel (as is the case in other vehicles)? With the engine running, I'm getting 13.8V at the IG screw on the rear.

Many thanks.

I've stripped the instrument panel down, but there's no regulator on the pcb. Anyone know if the speedo or rev counter contains one that affects the temp gauge?

Anyone got the wiring diagram CD they could check on please? I've managed to misplace the one I bought from Ian.

Thanks

All sorted now. See http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... a&start=60 for details. Basically, managed to break a wire on the temp guage coil whilst fitting Mason alarm due to over-enthusiastic use of screwdriver
