Bongo Fury

Hi everyone, I've just become the proud owner of 4WD Bongo, camping for the first time this weekend and can't wait. I want to tint the windows but haven't got a clue how to remove them. Can anyone out there give me instructions on how to take each of the side windows out please? Have just been quoted 100 quid plus vat to have the side windows tinted, is this good value? Thanks.

Yeah, I've tried to get into that post before, but whatever I do, i can't access the link from this site to his post on the bongoforum. I've even set up a login but still can't seem to access the link he put in. Not sure what I'm doing wrong?

Get 2 of these big sucker things for holding/carrying glass - also sold as dent pullers in your local pound shop, get someone to stand outside holding the window with those while you clip off the the 3 plastic covers on each window on the hinges & catch, undo the screws, you'll have to force back the plastic trim slighty on the catches to get the screwdriver in, but it can be done That's it. if the rubber bits on the window are fubar I think bongobits sell them, good luck.

Mind you that's not a bad price you were quoted either as long as they do a decent job, I've seen some sketchy "professional" tints

I took my trim off to get the windows out, but forgot to fit the covers back on .

Just put them in place then with a blunt but thin thing (say about 4mmx20mm) give them a good thump and they will click into place. You can just use the philips screw driver that you use to undo the windows, but this can just aas easily split the plastic cover as I have found out.
Personally I leave the hinges in place and unscrew the 2 fittings that are in the window (best taken off to tint anyway). The lock side I just push the pin out and remove the other bit on the window once on the ground.
Its not difficult to tint, but there is a knack, and I havent quite got it yet but then again neither has the guy round the corner who charges £100 .
For a good job, £100 is definitely a reasonable price though.

Shouldn't be difficult to get the hinge covers back on, I didn't have to remove the trim to tint the windows, just pull it back gently & there's enough room to get in there

All of my windows were done in situ by cutting the film around the obstructions for £150 - perfect job.

Hi everyone, decided to save myself the hassle and get the windows tinted professionally. £141 after the dreaded VAT. Really pleased with the result. The vehicle looks so much better . Away for the weekend in it now, off to a new camp site near Asbourne in Derbyshire. Thanks for your help.
