Bongo Fury

I own an R reg 2WD 2.5TD Bongo.

My exhaust back box has fallen off and I have bought a complete exhaust replacement from Iezura. I took it to my local garage and they pointed out that my existing exhaust is made up of 3 parts and my new replacement has 4 parts. I'm confused.

The front section of my existing exhaust has a long pipe with a slight bend at both ends. The new replacement is almost the same but in 2 parts. One of the bends is a small separate piece. Is this alright to fit or have I been supplied the wrong exhaust?

Also, I need to buy fixings & gaskets. Where can I buy these from?

It sounds like the new exhaust has the option to re-fit the shutter valve for twin battery set up bongo's. Mine doesn't have the twin battery set up, so i can't check on mine, perhaps the valve on the t/b set up is a seperate joint?

I'd love to say "oh, of course", but I haven't the faintest idea what you've just said; My brain is a mechanical-free area.

It doesn't sound like I should be worried though.

Some bongo's have two starter batteries under the bonnet, this set up also has a switch next to the "rear" heater switch, with a picture of an engine on it, if clicked, the engine is warmed quicker in really cold conditions, by means of a valve/shutter/flap inside the exhaust... Mine doesn't have such a set-up. What i'm suggesting is that perhaps, the valve/shutter/flap section on your new replacement may have the extra section to cater for the "cold climate" bongo's,as well as the "standard" version.

It's hard to say without seeing the two exhausts lay out next to each other to compare...

It's almost exhaust time for me too, and I promise I'm not going to hijack this thread. I've also got the twin battery set up (actually second battery now removed replaced with leisure) but I was looking to go down the stainless full system line, is there anything special that will need to be done with the system because of my twin batteries?

Ah yes, I've got a leisure battery and a normal battery. Thanks, I'm beginning to be clear on this now.

I just hope I don't regret buying an inexpensive exhaust - all four bits cost £149.00. I was quoted £585 + VAT from a Mazda dealer. I almost fainted.
