Are there springs on the pads?
I've never done the Bongo's, but have never seen springs on any other car.

not sure which is your model but looking at lushprojects some models appear to have a spring/shim arrangement.

Think I have seen some in Halfords may be call anti rattle shims
but don't know if they do a set that will fit the Bongo.

Havent done rear pads but my new front ones came with new spring clips which retain the inside pads in their caliper.

Thanks for replies, can I ask you carlioll where you purchased your front pads? You must have got the two shims shown in the workshop manual, I would be intrested as to wether the springs would come with the rears.

Not sure that we are talking about the same thing here -I thought you were looking for the spring clips which hold in the pads on the piston side of the caliper but you now mention the anti squeel shims -two totally different items. My front pads came from AVA Leisure and included new spring clips but not anti squeel shims. From memory, the spring clips are about an inch long and the anti squeel shims are the size of the disk pads. There was nowt wrong with my old clips and if this is what you are looking for then I am pretty certain that I have these somewhere.

Do you mean part 26-233?
They don't come with the new pads, they're part of a shim/spring kit. But I don't think that will cause your clunk.
Is the clunk whenever you brake after changing direction? It could be the handbrake shoes sticking slightly.
