Hi. Just got my Ford Freda yesterday. Pleased so far. To the right of the steering column there's a little black toggle swith with a little red dot on it. What does it do? Haven't pressed it yet in case its the ejector button.

Is it the rear foglight switch - they often use little round switches with a small red light in them as part of the 'dangly' foglight job they do to get imported Bongos through the MOT?

Yep, most likely rear fog light, but make sure you're not too attached to whoever is sat in the passenger seat just in case

Welcome to the forum & enjoy, don't be shy asking what you can't find.

Thanks all. Does indeed seem to be the foglight.
Much obliged.

At the risk of spouting corny philosophy, in the Bongo Tribe the only stupid question is the one that isn't asked

How come a 2nd switch is requird for the fog light?Just checked the wiring and it simply connects up to the original fog light switch on the dash.
I also have a similar switch on the left of my steering wheel that connects to the 12v cig plug (this wire is fused) whilst the 2nd wire is not connected / loose.

Good question. I don't have an original foglight switch so can't answer but maybe your Bongo had (front?) foglights and the vendor used the switch for the rear foglamp. Question then is where did the original foglights disappear to.
Don't all write in at once

I have a similar set up with the fogs..
I have factory fitted front fogs that eluded Customs & importers eBay eyes disguised as 4 kilo's of Moroccan.. & the rear fog takes a feed off that!
The switch on the left could be for a heated rear screen??

I was thinking that the switch was for front fogs....even though the van has no front fogs! Will further investigate.
As for the rear heated window screen, the button doesnt link ito the wiring for it, it only links into the cig lighter connection.
Cheers all
