low profile tyre pressure matrimonial dispute!

Post by Benny the Ball » Fri Mar 21, 2008 9:59 pm

I have a set of low profiles on my pimp my camper 18 inch rims. They are 22540ZR18 92Y and look a bit like this:

I've been filling them to 33psi all round, whilst the spouse insists on filling them to 28psi. :?

What do you reckon is best? Anyone have similar?

Hopefully some answers, or I'm going to have to make an appointment with marriage guidance come Tuesday.

Cheers,

These are below weight for the rear - need to be 96 - an over zealous rozzer might just have you, never mind the fact your insurance company might not stump up :?

You can only find out by trial and error.
Talking of error, the load rating for the rear tyres should be a minimum of 96 whereas you have 92  - may affect your insurance.

Oh dear. :( They were on the beast at time of purchase. Is it just a case of new tires for the rear, or would there be an issue with the 18" rims?

Any answers much appreciated.

Cheers.

No problem with wheel size, just the load rating.

I reckon 28 is Waaaaaay too low.

I run 36 all round on 215/60-16s and that seems about right.

And yes you need new tyres on the back at least.

I bought some alloys with 92 index tyres on and flogged them off on Ebay after fitting 98's all round.
