High pitched rubbing/grinding ?

Post by pilajake » Fri Mar 07, 2008 1:40 pm

Bongo has just developed a high pitched piercing rubbing/grinding ? from the rear wheel :?:
I t did stop when the breaks were applied but now it starts when i turn sharp right and only slightly decreases when the breaks are applied. Then it dissapeares altogether and comes back when i turn right
Could this be the break pads or the Bearings as someone suggested or something completely different :?:
Any suggestions apart from turn the radio up as a friend suggested

It wouldn't take long to jack up the offending wheel and do a brake inspection, perhaps to include the parking drum liner in case that has started to break up (it is said that they can do with old age though I've never heard of it turning up like this). Somewhere in this exercise you may either find or get a clearer idea about the problem.

I will only get a chance to look at it on Sunday
Hopefully it will not be too much trouble
