Post by mikeonb4c » Tue Feb 26, 2008 3:03 pm

Trying to source suitabe replacement bulbs for the faulty ones in my front cab lights (don't want to go back to the dim old filament ones). Has anyone tried these and/or would they be suitable.

Hi,

I tried a couple of LED bulbs before I found ones that were bright enough.

Ebay item number 370018626406

2 X 6 LED Xenon white HID look 501 W5W sidelight bulbs-R

Don't buy the cheaper ones with 1 x LED in them, they are not much use as they are very dim.

Hope this helps.

Thanks chums. My originals came from one of those threads - NeilT got them for me when he got his. His have been fine but others of us have had durability problems. The difficulty was that the ones we got were an assortment and this makes regular replacement expensive, so I now want to find a source of affordable bulbs just for the front cab lists (the most important).

I'll take a look at your ebay suggestion apole and hear from you robdrinky if you turn anything up.

One of mine started flickering yesterday  but that may have been water getting in the door contact when I was coolant bleeding  I remain hopeful [-o<

Thanks Robd I'll check that out. Quite like the idea of a pack of 10 as per the link at top of thread. They seem the right size and power, as long as they last!!

I'm with you there mike... a ten pack of anything is worth consideration, even if you only get six months out of em...

I like the big led in the middle, and the siblings around the outer, that addresses the issue of the beam only going in one direction,a more spread out light would be ideal for the application of the interior cabin lights.

Some footwell lights wouldn't go amiss either.... Watch this space...
