Mason Alarm
Fitted a Mason Alarm today as per instructions. After driving for approx 400 metres temp gauge went all the way over to the right passed the ( H ) mark and stays there. Rechecked to see if I had wired it correctly and seems to be right, any ideas

I noticed when I fitted mine that the instrument circuit board is quite flimsy. You may have done some damage to it perhaps. I don't know how much a new instrument cluster would set you back. Before you look into a new cluster you could take the cluster all the way out and look for obvious damage that could be soldered. Also check that the electrical connector is clipped together well.
sounds like it is earthed out or shorted, when testing temperature sender unit i touch terminal on the actual temp sender unit to earth ,and this has same effect, lets you know if its the gauge whats faulty or the sender unit.Raff wrote:I've disconected the Mason Aarm but the gauge still going passed the H mark just with the ignition on. you have probably overtightened the screws or accidently touched a circuit and shorted it out,try loosening the screws (3) at back of clocks with ignition on and engine up to temp, sometimes if one of the screws is not tightened or slightly tightened your gauge will work.
