What is the max weight the roof can lift?

i am wondering if people usually leave their empty roofboxes on when elevating the roof? i know you not supposed to lift with anything on but does anyone have experiences, does the motor complain or do you think it shouls lif the weight no problem?

we generally help it, it strains a bit with a hefty sized roofbox and bars on there!

I help mine too - on the way down too, in case the extra weight strains the gears.
