Fantastic day out. Big thanks to DBO for organising. Personal thanks to Plod for 2 x cups of tea (saved me from hypothermia). Will post my pics in the fullness (plus BDC has an interesting video clip showing a rarely seen bit of Bongo capability - hope he'll get that up - the clip dear, the clip - in due course).

i have got to thank Caz (roosters better half) and roosters lovely mum, for supplying the barms and sausage rolls which i had to pick up from his mums without him knowing ,and not forgetting that fabulous cake, which seemed a shame to cut but tasted fandabidozy.

Bummer! I missed something good. Looking at those great pictures brought tears into my eyes. June and I attended a residental school in Birkdale for many years The school was just behind the Royal Birkdale Golf Course just a mile or two up the coast from Ainsdale. The tears come from remembering the school cross country race which I took part in every year. Along the old Cheshire lines railway track (now the coast road) then up and down the sandhills god knows how many times, it was pure purgatory.
All the best Karl I trust you had a tipsy day.
