Hi,

Difficult to say without hearing it but things I can think of are:

Has an air pipe worked loose on the air intake somewhere?
Does the car smoke more or drive differently?
Has anything been changed recently, such as oil level check and seat not reseated properly?

Good luck.

Just to reinforce the previous comments regarding air box/filter.

Our Saab has a modified airbox and filter and it makes as much noise during hard acceleration as the exhaust does  . It is a surprisingly deep deep & throaty sound too.

Could be worth a check to see if everything is still in place in the intake system

In the beginning there was nothing , then God said "Let there be Light".....There was still nothing , but ,by crikey, you could see it better.
