sender unit location

Post by pen11 » Wed Feb 06, 2008 1:19 pm

hello there :o)
i seem to be having problems with my tempreture gadge, it sometimes works and then the needle drops down to nothing. i have been adviced that this could be the sender unit but apart from knowing that this is located somewhere on the cylinder head im kinda stuck as of were to find it. has any one got any pictures of diagrames of its location so i can have a look at the connections or maybe change the part.
many thanks
in advance :o)

i though i better add some additional info just incase this sounds familiar to anyone else. my temp gauge was working fine for over a year, i then had my water pump replaced and for about 3 days the temp gauge showed that Bertha was starting to over heat so i took her back to the garage and it turned out thier was still air in the cooling system. anyway after a jolly good burp Bertha was back to normal then 2 days later the temp gauge cuts out compleatly. so i get a new gauge and fit it and now the gauge is working intermitantly. when it does work it sits happily at 11 oclock but the it just stops workinging as if the power has jsut been turned off. i havent noticed any increase in tempreture so i kinda think that i currently am not having any over heating problems. has this happened to anyone else?? im hoping its just a minor issue.
