Oil staining
Hi,
I've noticed some oil staining around a flange joint that wasn't there when I bought my Bongo two years ago.
It's under the driver seat toeards the fronttowards the front, a big squareish pipe joining a round one that disappears towards the front of the engine.
I tried tightening the bolts but they seem quite tight.
Any ideas.
Will load pictures later if needed.
Cheers

I think you will find this is quite common.
It comes from a silacone seal and the mess is from the EGR. Not a problem and as long as you are not useing oil I don't think you need to worry

Agree with Haydn, sounds like the egr return pipe into the air inlet manifold, if it bothers you it can be blanked off or removed. I did soon after getting mine, didn't like the idea of that muck going into the air inlet, among other factors.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

I got my kit from nick skidmore who is a member on here, his kit allows the whole lot to be removed (as well as a liberal amounts of knuckle skin
, but worth it IMO), Allans kit is two blanking plates which can be fitted leaving all the pipework in situ, much easier & just as effective, if not as satisfying as getting rid of the useless pipework etc. Not sure if Nick is making any more kits up, but try pming him.

That's no excuse Brora
, I'd imagine the outside temperature & weather is agood enough excuse for you though
I reckon big stilsons should get in there ok, you aren't going to need the coupling nut again after all. I lent my 36mm spanner to my friend who has now b***ered off to spain with it
