I had simaler prob after hitting standing water, it did dry out check your plugs , dizzy cap, maybe one of your ht leads has gone down, sorry but process of elimination, sometimes if your down on a cylinder it will dump fuel down the exhaust and drown the lamda sensor, again it will dry out, failing that back to plan 1  goodluck

Had the same problem with the missus`s Fiesta after I serviced it - boy was I popular - went through everything and eventually found it was a duff plug. #-o

firstly buy a neon spark plug tester and check all six plugs.rules out leads, cap, rotor arm.(they cost a quid or two)make sure you rev up and observe the flashing...
if nothing then found remove all the spark plugs and inspect for fouling on a particular plug.or replace (ngk plugs are best for jap engines)..
disconnect the ignition then do a compression test(if you have a compression gauge, availble on ebay or machine mart) one by one all should be about equal at least 120psi.
If its a ignition fault you should find it no probs

I imagine you've checked your plugs, but in case you haven't we've had a problem with the oil seal on the rocker housing covers, which have allowed small amount of oil to seep into the spark plug chamber. This automatically causes quite a juddery misfire.

It's a quick job for a garage that knows what it's doing, but the parts are pricy, so I hope for your sake it isn't that.
