Oil Oil everywhere

Just noticed an oil leak - Phoned my mechanic - He had a look and said he thought the oil was coming from the Head Gasket, cleaned it up a bit and then said "No, it actually looks like it's coming from the Manifold!!"

He said he has not seen that before and I thought I would check it out with you guys - He thought there was a chance it had blown in but wanted to poke around before deciding what to do, and said to ask on here

Any comments/suggestions?

Is your EGR blanked off.

If not it could be 'crud' from the egr system...usually appears at the front end of the engine on the driver's side.

There is a pipe under there that has a history of leaking/coming loose

Wasn't there a discussion about something a bit like this recently on BF. Did it involve the intercooler (though can't think how - was it sludge from the inlet manifold backing up or somesuch?). Probably not the same as your problem but I mention it in case. Good luck.
