That sounds on the good side of good. I wish there was somewhere safe (Price Checker, Best Buys list etc.) we could put this for future reference.

Too good to be true.

Are they reinforced? Are they van / light commercial tyres or tyres for family car?

For a few £'s more you could have fitted a well known brand.

If you are a 4WD then you will not do your transmission any good fitting the same tyres all round.

Mazda give you clear instructions on which tyres to fit to be safe, why not take note?

OK, so explain this please.

100 means the tyre is rated to a load of 800kg, it does not mean it is reinforced.
V is a Speed rating of 149.1 mph

110V - You can't read this on a tyre and then think it is the equivalent of a Continental Vanco.

If you want Vanco's you have got to specify them, and yes you can get Vanco different sizes front and rear, they cost a few £'s more but peace of mind is something you can't put a price on.

Me thinks you need to look at your tyres and see if it says 'Reinforced' and if so is it 4, 6, or 8 ply, if it aint any of these then you are on car tyres and a Bongo is a different beast to a family car, if it does say reinforced then you may be OK.

I would hope Nick and the tyre experts have between them managed to ensure 'fit for purpose' tyres are on the Bongo. Wouldn't the supplier risk getting sued if not?

Also, is the price too good to be true. I thought I'd read of others getting tyres for around the £50 mark each so this is only a little under that. I'm sure there are savings to be had if you know which less well known brands perform well. I bought 4 steels with Kumhos on them and have to admit I'm very happy with them. These were in very good nick when I bought them and I reasoned that the Japanese didnt seem like a bunch likely to ignore safety to cut corners on cost.

Kumho's got good reviews in the AutoExpress test and I've used them (still am on t'other car) with no complaints.

But no doubt someone with a bias to vent will insist on "Kumho, Kumho, it's off the road we go"

Tyres for the bongo dont need to be reinforced, but xtra load, which is usually about the 96/98 mark.
Personally I have used a set of vanco's on a bongo (4wd) and was not overly impressed with how quickly they wore out.

Hi Guys,
I just picked up on this thread. I bought a pair of Continental Vanco 2s in April and they are now barely legal after 11000 miles! I had to change them the other day after a puncture in one of them meant that a repair would be uneconomic.
I have raised this with the suppliers and hope to get a refund or voucher or something. The "original" vancos (i.e. not Vanco 2s) on the front were changed at the same time and have hardly worn at all.
I shall not be using Vanco 2s again!
Does anyone else use them I wonder.
